Actress Claudine Barretto left the Kapamilya network , her mother network for almost 17 years and moved to its rival network, GMA-7. A lot of people were surprised by this move especially that Claudine Barretto was considered to be one of the biggest stars of ABS-CBN.

Claudine Barretto's last television series with ABS-CBN was the beautiful series entitled “Iisa Pa Lamang” in 2008. This year, Claudine appeared on another ABS-CBN series entitled “May Bukas Pa” as a guest star. Claudine signed an exclusive two-year contract with GMA-7 last November 25, 2009.

Last May 10, 2009, ABS-CBN's The Buzz guested three good and beautiful moms in showbusiness namely; Claudine Barretto, Jodi Santamaria and the bubbly Carmina Villaroel.

The talent development center of ABS-CBN, Star Magic lead by Johnny M. Manahan launch a Star Magic Catalogue 2009. This year's catalogue contains 226 headshots. The Top 24 have one or two-page fashion shot. The winners of Pinoy Dream Academy, Be Bench, Pinoy Big Brother Season 2, PBB Teen Edition and Star Magic Batch 16 are included.

Last year, the Star Magic Catalogue had 12 artists on the cover, this year, only 8 artists graces it's cover, Angelica Panganiban, Diether Ocampo, Kristine Hermosa, Sam Milby, Bea Alonzo, Piolo Pascual, Claudine Barretto, and John Lloyd Cruz.
