Actress Iza Calzado received her first Best Actress trophy last Wednesday night, (May 5, 2010) during the 7th Golden Screen Awards held at Teatrino Greenhills. Iza won the Best Actress award for her performance in an indie film "Dukot" which is under Dramatic Motion Picture. The actress admitted that she was not expecting to win knowing that she's competing against veteran actresses in the same category: Vilma Santos (In My Life), Sharon Cuneta (Mano Po 6: A Mother's Love), Anita Linda (Lola), Rustica Carpio (Lola), Snooky Serna (Sagrada Familia). Also nominated for the same category were Bea Alonzo (And I Love You So) and Lovi Poe (Sagrada Familia).Iza Calzado said her first Best Actress trophy is very memorable.
"IT FEELS REALLY GOOD." "Sobra!. Kinakabahan pa rin ako. Hindi ko rin maintindihan minsan. Ang tamis-tamis. They would always say that an actress or someone does not need a validation like this. But you know guys, it feels really good. It inspires me."
Iza's escort during the awards night was her boyfriend Atticus King.
