According to published reports, the popular stand-up comedian, television host and actress, Ellen DeGeneres finally got married to her girlfriend of nearly four years, Portia de Rossi at their home in Beverly Hills, California, Saturday night (August 16, 2008). On her May 16, 2008 The Ellen Degeneres talk show, she announced that she and Portia de Rossi were engaged. This was after the overturn of the same-sex marriage ban in California.
